Once upon a time on the streets of Edinburgh

As a creative, is there any higher affirmation than when two fellow creatives get in touch to book you for their dream micro wedding in Edinburgh with a jaunt to the Scottish National Gallery for their couple photographs? Were we nervous? Extremely. Was it amazing? 100%.

Kerrie & Tim didn’t want the fuss of a larger, classic wedding and so they picked just their closest family and ‘eloped’ to Edinburgh from the Emerald Isle. A full time artist, Kerrie had planned their intimate celebration with such attention to detail really focusing on some of the core elements that really create an evocative mood. She had chosen the Edinburgh based Botanical Studio ‘Ochre’ to do the flowers and my goodness, what a joy it was to work with them and capture their beautiful installations which decorated the handsome wood panelled suite at the Caledonian and looked like Dutch Masters paintings as day turned to night and the tapered candles twinkled, filling the room with dreamy light.

Beautiful folk music, great Whiskey & candlelight was the order of affairs not to mention a trip to the fountains at Princes Street Gardens for family photos accompanied by a piper. It really felt like a Scottish fairytale and that soft, April light that only the North gets really was something else. We loved travelling up for this extra special wedding and creating their wedding film & gallery for them. A photographer & videographers dream.
